What is Rebar Mapping?
Rebar mapping surveys can determine rebar distribution (spacing and depth of the different rebar layers), rebar cover thickness, overall concrete slab thickness, and detect any other features within concrete including post tension cables, conduits, ducts, and voids.In this test, concrete cores from the hardened concrete are extracted using the core cutting machine and after the preparation of specimens, their compressive strength are determined.
How do you test the concrete Rebar?
Slide the rebar locator horizontally over the concrete until it beeps. Guide the locator slowly along the edge of the concrete and pay attention to the display. Watch for a bar or circle appearing in the middle of the screen, which means you’re close to the rebar.
